Here we have listed some of the best spots to visit for a glorified photoshoot, with marvellous aesthetics and great trekking experiences.

Kedarkantha Trek

Region :- Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Duration :- 6 Days

Difficulty level :- Easy To Moderate

Max Altitude :- 12,500 Ft.

Approx Trekking distance :- 20 Kms.

Known to be one of the best winter treks, the KedarKantha trek is also popular for it’s easier level of difficulty. The best time to visit here, especially for photography, is from December to mid-April.

En route beauty spots:

  • Jadu ka talab, having beautiful scenery and the lush Alpine forest, surrounding the main lake gives an otherworldly feel.
  • Kedarnath Base. Scaling it would lead to the view of stunning peaks of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini and Kala Nag etc for a change in scenery.
  • Shrines. At the very top of KedarKantha peak, beautiful snow covered temples dedicated to lord Shiv, Parvati ji and Ganesh ji are a good place for photoshoots too!

Valley Of Flowers Trek

Region :- Chamoli, Uttarakhand

Duration :- 6 Days

Difficulty level :- Easy To Moderate

Max Altitude :- 14,100 Ft.

Approx Trekking distance :-  Up to the individual

Best time to visit :- All year around

Immensely popular within and outside the nation, this trek provides a spectacular display of flora and fauna. The stunning spread of flowers all over the above 80 kilometers of land is a rare sight to behold.

It is a perfect place for photography shoots, as there are numerous places for setups and rest. The perfect timings for a photo session are during the afternoon and evening. But, beware of the rainy season.

If you’re planning to trek higher, then make sure you pack light and wear warm clothes.

Roopkund Trek

Region :- Uttarakhand

Duration :- 8 Days

Grade :- Moderate To Difficult

Max Altitude :- 15,696 Ft.

Approx Trekking Km :- 53 Kms.

Best time to visit:- May, June, Mid August to October | for snow-Mid December to Mid June( harsh weather conditions for photography)

Known as the “mystery lake”, Roopkund is famous for the thrill and serenity it provides. Lying under and around this lake are the human skeletons of more than 500 people. With the chilly air, the picturesque beauty of Roopkund and its orchids the overall atmosphere is perfect for photography.

Just keep in mind the weather conditions, else the photographers may have problems. This is because of the untimed hailstorms the size of a tennis ball, that are frequent during winters.

Else, the beautiful village surrounding roop kung is a good place to camp and relax. Covered with luxurious greenery, if someone is unwilling to do the difficult trek, even so they can find themselves at a good place.

Nag Tibba Trek.

Region :- Uttarakhand

Duration :- 2 Days

Grade :- Easy

Max Altitude :- 9,910 Ft.

Approx Trekking Km :- 16 Kms.

Best time to visit :- Round the year except monsoon

For an alluring trekking destination for the weekends,with family and friends, Nag Tibba trek got you covered. Not only this trek is easy, the plus point is its beauty.

A couple of days more in your trekking time, and you may as well find yourself in the “queen of the hills” Mussoorie.

It possesses zero altitude threat, with no danger from rocks, offering a thoroughly enlivening trek instead. This is another reason why it is a great place for not only getaway weekends, but also for photography. But, the heavy rains during the monsoons can be quite troublesome and may cause slip ups during the journey.

Rest assured, carry a shawl or coverall even if you’re heading here in the summer season. It may help you with the higher altitudes.

  • Guano Hills Trek – Serene and peaceful. Much sought after if you want to relax in the lush forest of oak.
  • Dayara Bugyal Trek- Scenic route, near the holy town of Haridwar. Visiting it will kill 2 birds with one stone if you are a theist.
  • Har ki dun trek -most beautiful trek that takes you to many unexplored parts of Garhwal Himalayas. The snowy peaks give you extra points for excellent pictures!
